Celebrating Anila Kadija’s Career

On the 25th of October 2024, our board member Anila Kadija’s 30 years of legacy was celebrated at the Albanian Embassy in London. Renown Albanian artists, politicians, business people and cultural leaders from the UK and worldwide, among which representatives from BACA were invited to honour her lifelong commitment to the Albanian language and culture

Anila, a dedicated journalist and community leader, has been a steadfast champion of Albanian language and culture, particularly among the diaspora. Her unwavering commitment to preserving her heritage has led to significant contributions to the Albanian community worldwide.

As a journalist, Anila has used her platform to share insights and perspectives on various topics, shedding light on the rich tapestry of Albanian culture. She has been actively involved in community organizations, establishing initiatives that promote Albanian language and culture, such as the Scanderbeg association in Parma and the Ardhmëria school in London.

Anila’s dedication to preserving Albanian language and culture has not gone unnoticed. In 2022, she was awarded the National Literature Award for her book of poems, “Ninulla e zemrës” (Lullaby of the Heart). This prestigious award honored her contributions to the preservation of Albanian language and culture, particularly among children in the diaspora.

Anila’s legacy is a testament to her unwavering commitment to her heritage and her belief in the power of language and culture to unite communities.
