🇬🇧 The British-Albanian Culture and Arts Association (BACA) organised a special artistic evening at the Albanian Embassy in London with internationally renowned violinist Florian Vlashi; a rare gathering that brought together a diverse audience of artists, professionals, culture enthusiasts, and members of both the Albanian and international community.
The evening unfolded as a warm and insightful dialogue between Tomorr Kokona and Florian Vlashi, offering the audience a journey through different stages of the artist’s life and career. The conversation began with his childhood in Albania, shaped by a rich intellectual and artistic environment. Florian Vlashi is the son of Gjergj Vlashi, a distinguished figure in Albanian culture, honoured with the title “Nderi i Kombit” (Honour of the Nation): an actor, theatre and film director, writer, and translator, known among other achievements for introducing Franz Kafka’s work into the Albanian language.
Growing up in such an environment, surrounded by books and art, gave Florian a strong foundation and a deep love for culture and music.
The artistic programme was not simply a sequence of performances, but a carefully curated narrative. Each musical piece represented a stage in Vlashi’s life and artistic identity. From the sounds of Albanian music to Spanish influences and international repertoire, the audience experienced a journey that intertwined cultures, time, and emotion.
The performance of “Alla shqiptarçe” by Vaso Tole created a direct connection to Albanian roots, while the Three Spanish Miniatures reflected his creative and professional life in Spain. The evening reached its peak with the performance of “A Paganini” by Schnittke—a profound, technically demanding composition that brought the artistic cycle to a powerful close. Florian performed on a rare French violin by Jacques Boquay, Paris, circa 1700, adding another layer of historical depth to the performance.
On a deeper level, the programme reflected the artist’s philosophy of life: the pursuit of balance and the understanding of art as a form of service. From childhood to maturity, from Albania to the wider world and back to his roots, the evening formed a complete cycle—a symbolic return to origin, to family, to identity.
A remarkable insight shared during the conversation was that Florian Vlashi has performed over 200 world premieres with Grupo Instrumental Siglo XX, a testament to his outstanding contribution to contemporary international music.
This was not merely a concert or a conversation; it was a reflection on life, art, and the responsibility carried by the artist. A reminder that true art is not only performance, but a bridge between generations, peoples, cultures, and human experiences.
In the end, what remained was the feeling of a sincere encounter, where music and words came together to create a rare experience, an evening remembered not only for its sound, but for its depth and authenticity.

Shoqata British-Albanian Culture and Arts (BACA) organisoi në ambientet e Ambasadës Shqiptare në Londër një mbrëmje të veçantë artistike me violinistin me famë ndërkombëtare Florian Vlashi, një takim i rrallë që bashkoi një audiencë të larmishme – artistë, profesionistë, dashamirës të kulturës dhe përfaqësues të komunitetit shqiptar dhe ndërkombëtar.
MbrĂ«mja u ndĂ«rtua si njĂ« dialog i ngrohtĂ« dhe i thellĂ« mes Tomorr KokonĂ«s dhe Florian Vlashit, ku publiku pati mundĂ«sinĂ« tĂ« udhĂ«tonte nĂ«pĂ«r faza tĂ« ndryshme tĂ« jetĂ«s dhe karrierĂ«s sĂ« artistit. Biseda nisi me fĂ«mijĂ«rinĂ« e tij nĂ« ShqipĂ«ri, njĂ« periudhĂ« e formuar nga njĂ« mjedis i pasur intelektual dhe artistik. Rritja në një familje të tillë, e rrethuar nga libra dhe art, i dha Florianit një themel të fortë dashurie për kulturën dhe muzikën.
Programi artistik nuk ishte thjesht një rend interpretimesh, por një rrëfim i menduar me kujdes. Çdo pjesë muzikore përfaqësonte një etapë të jetës dhe të identitetit artistik të Vlashit. Nga tingujt e muzikës shqiptare, te ndikimet spanjolle dhe repertori ndërkombëtar, publiku përjetoi një udhëtim që ndërthuri kultura, kohë dhe emocione.
Interpretimi i veprës “Alla shqiptarçe” nga Vaso Tole solli një lidhje të drejtpërdrejtë me rrënjët shqiptare, ndërsa Tre miniatura spanjolle reflektuan periudhën e tij krijuese dhe profesionale në Spanjë. Kulmi i mbrëmjes erdhi me interpretimin e veprës “A Paganini” nga Schnittke, një kompozim i thellë dhe sfidues që përmbylli ciklin artistik të mbrëmjes.

Në një tjetër shtresë më të thellë, programi pasqyroi filozofinë e jetës së artistit: kërkimin e ekuilibrit dhe artin si formë shërbimi. Nga fëmijëria te pjekuria, nga Shqipëria në botë dhe përsëri te rrënjët, mbrëmja u ndërtua si një cikël – një rikthim simbolik tek rrenjet, tek familja, tek identiteti.
Një fakt domethënës i ndarë gjatë bisedës ishte se Florian Vlashi ka realizuar mbi 200 premiera botërore me Grupo Instrumental Siglo XX, një dëshmi e kontributit të tij të jashtëzakonshëm në muzikën bashkëkohore ndërkombëtare.
Mbrëmja nuk ishte vetëm një koncert apo një bisedë – ishte një reflektim mbi jetën, artin dhe përgjegjësinë që mbart një artist. Një kujtesë se arti i vërtetë nuk është vetëm interpretim, por një urë mes brezave, popujve, kulturave dhe përvojave njerëzore.
Në fund, ajo që mbeti ishte ndjesia e një takimi të sinqertë, ku muzika dhe fjala u bashkuan për të krijuar një përvojë të rrallë – një mbrëmje që do të kujtohet jo vetëm për tingujt, por për thellësinë dhe autenticitetin që solli.
